Portfolio
In this section you can take a closer look on my portfolio. It contain some of the projects I’ve been working on since the fall of 2005 when I started on my bachelor’s degree at Høgskolen i Nesna (HiNe, University College). It also contain some projects that I am currently working on.
ScratchBreaker
- Type: Game
- Platform: Web browser/iPhone web browser
- Languages: JavaScript/AJAX/PHP/HTML
- Year: 2005
I created this application for two reasons. The first reason was that I needed an exercise to learn JavaScript properly. This project seemed to be of a descent size that didn’t require to much effort. The second reason why I choose to implement this game was my addiction to the Bubblebreaker game installed on my old Qtek 8310. I used the same algorithm for calculating and counting the points as in that version. Bubblebreaker comes pre-installed on most Windows Mobile devices today. The original title for this game is Jawbreaker. You can read more about it on Wikipedia.
TV-Lista
- Type: Entertainment
- Platform: iPhone
- Languages: Objective-C
- Year: 2010
Today there are many TV applications in the Norwegian AppStore. Most of them lack fundamental functionality and usability. They also violate the iPhone guidelines. My focus has been to follow the iPhone guidelines and create an application that supports functionality others lack. The application is available in the AppStore via this link.
Skritteller
- Type: Health and fitness
- Platform: iPhone
- Languages: Objective-C
- Year: 2010-2011
There are plenty pedometer applications in the AppStore but most of them are bad looking. In December 2010 I sat down and made a Norwegian pedometer during two weekends. The application gained popularity after being mentioned in an article in VG (Read article). The biggest issue I came across was developing a good step detection algorithm using the iPhone accelerometer.
